1.A camera obscure (Latin: "dark chamber") is an optical device that led to photography and the camera. The device consists of a box or room with a hole in one side.
The Camera Obscure is an ancient optical device. In its most basic form it is, quite simply, a dark room with a small hole in one wall. On the wall opposite the hole, an image is formed of whatever is outside. This image is upside-down (inverted) and back to front (laterally transposed). it also lets you see the inside part of the pattern. it comes out in the color of the light.

Light from an external scene passes through the hole and strikes a surface inside, where it is reproduced, rotated 180 degrees (thus upside-down), but with color and perspective preserved. The image can be projected onto paper, and can then be traced to produce a highly accurate representation.
